get up

excuse me while I numb my brain

now my life is never the same

commotion in my skull

laziness not too dull

I can stare at the wall

I can laugh at them all

or drift off on my own

in my own little zone

buzz in my mind

clouds what I find

sifting in my thoughts

the thief that was caught

correct my mind

stop wasting time

This life is mine.

4 walls

sitting in this room

four cold cement walls

reflecting on the past

the time of my fall.

Born into regulations

of what I should be

how I should dress

and what’s best for me.

The numbers get higher

more pressure and burden

old violence and greed

made this path certain.

Forged into their heads

the seeds of evil past

the glory of a winner

the humility of last.

The false honor of money

all that power and fame

staring at these walls

that all look the same.

Why all these faults

we should have it right

with all the blood spilled

on the darkest of nights.

All the misguided people

corrupt inside their mind

I pray for all of you

in this room wasting time.

strength

tough…  I’m tough

I repel the evils

the forces that pull me

into dark rooms

and scarred faces

I’m tough and strong

able to withstand the onslaught

I will not let the succeed

in bringing me down

to play in their games

I walked through the swamps

and lost forest

my will and patience

were stretched… tested

to see if I will break

but I never did

I stayed on my feet

keep moving, one more step

I rose above the filth

laid firm my moral base

a foundation of confidence

toughness and strength

the captain

there is a trust inside

talking to my head

whispering little inspirations

wild promises in bed

I feel it sustain

trying to direct the ship

but the damaged controls

from all I have done to it

thick grey fog

disrupts all the trust

like a fish out of water

the ship begins to rust

slowly slips away

never again called upon

buried under the pain

until the trust is almost gone

there is a trust inside

where you go is yours

there are limitless seas

among the infinite shores

with trust inside

let the captain gain control

only a matter of time

before your destination goal

bethune at peace river

king of the beach

ruler of the sand

sitting in your throne

dug into the land

commanding all the billions

each individual piece

dealing with all the changes

and the changes never cease

governor of the shore

nature and all its turmoil

with all the barefoot followers

covered in coconut oil

eyes closed in your sandy throne

the sun shines over your kingdom

just another shitty day

in the land of sandy freedom

my friends

things that will not help you tomorrow

paychecks, mortgages, leases and bills

jobs and bosses and stockmarket losses

this is his picture

his ideals

but my firends

wild and free

tattooed and holding blank canvases

running alongside the freeway laughing

they dare my life

ask it if it cares for them

they test their days

remind themselves they are alive

“live for today, tomorrow may never come”

they tell me, climbing cliffs

dancing in the crowds

creating the laughter

causing the comotion

my soul reminds me

about what is really important

of which path to take

the jungle of time is snarled

with the quick deaths of friends I know

and relatives I did not

reminds me of my present postion

I am alive where I am

reflections

unplug

you sit and watch

your guard let down

absorbing its influence

every bullet’s sound

it’s opinion

the way they dress

determines the demeanor

of everybody left

stuck in every home

a society staple

more fuel for the fire

with supercharged cable

more choices

more wasted time

sitting your life away

thinking everything is fine

you sit and watch

the evil plugged in

turn the influence off

to let you life begin
